Updated 7/18/2007

I can't believe I have finally finished the CD that started in 2001. It took a long time to complete but I have to say that life sort of caught up with me and took me away from the music scene for way too long. However, I am back with a vengence and will be releasing the CD "Over My Head" in Early August of 2007. The CD is in the duplication house, as I type this note and is scheduled to be in my hands sometime around July 24th. Other news is that I will be redoing the recording studio one more time. I have a new place to record and I have lots of work to do to get the studio up and running for some new material. Also in the works is a new art studio to get back to painting pictures and taking photos. With the release of the new CD will probably be a new look to the website and/or multiple locations to find Phil Hammon music and art. I-tunes has been pretty good to me and I look forward to hearing back from new fans as well as the old ones as they find new music on CD BABY, I-Tunes and a whole slew of digital distrubution sites. Did I already say "other news"? Well, the coyote theatre group is still kicking and I have to give the braintrust of that org a kudos because Andrew and Angie have managed to get a radio station going in Prescott which actually pays attention to 1. the artists (both local and abroad) and 2. the community ( PRESKIT). Combined with the Raven Cafe it seems little ol Prescott is starting to make itself a little dot on the creative map of the US. Good going gang!!!!!!! Now if they could just get me out of my "driving myself into the ground" mentallity and out for some fun and games. Well, that is all for now and look for new music soon!

The CD tracking is going well, with four songs ready for mastering and the fifth just around the corner. Five more to be finished within the next month and Phil is looking to release the CD by mid or late summer. Fresh sounds, solid tracking but all with that vintage Phil Hammon sound. Be on the lookout for more info soon.

The studio is now back to life and recording has started once again. It is exciting and the music is going down very well. Some great new music, a little bit of old unreleased stuff is getting an overhaul with a bit of new direction and I look forward to some very good mixes soon. Other news on the Prescott front is the addition of a new publically owned radio station and venue to perform. Local musicians have a true artistic venue and "over the air" presence to be heard in the little town pronounced "Preskit". More soon.

The studio is just about ready to come back to life. It has been a long time coming. However, I have been asked to do another video to help support the Heritage Park Zoo. I should have this completed by Aug 26th and it will be the second video to help support my town's local zoo. I hope to have both videos available on this site soon. I have performed on AM AZ three times now and if all goes well Steve Counter may show up for the new Zoo Telethon video. This could be really interesting. Other than that, I am ready to start recording again. I have lots of new ideas and I am ready to get them down to a recorded medium.

Here are more details about the works. I had to do some work on the studio. Basically a complete rebuild is in order due to termite infestation. Yep... there was not a lot of wood holding up the studio. I decided to put together what I had been able to finish before the remodeling along with some older instrumentals tracks and unrealeased songs from earlier years. It is a trip down memory lane and I hope you all will enjoy the trip with me. Anyway, that is what is new. When the new CD is ready to go I will post it here. Be safe and enjoy life!

"Wow"! I can't believe I neglected this page this long. Has a year and a half gone by already? I need to get some fresh input here. A quick note is I am compiling a best of CD, possible double CD set, to show all the various musical things I have done over the years. I am sorting through old session tapes and getting stuff ready to remix. Lots of styles, lots of music. I will write details later but I figured I should get some fresh info here. Geez, I can't believe a year and a half has gone by since the last update.

Updated 8/24/03

"Alone in your Song" was moved into the "mix" category and I have started work on the next couple of songs for the CD. I am still in the process of creating the new section of my site that will showcase other talent. Basically I am waiting for content from each individual artist. As I get the content I will definately get them listed promptly. On top of having my CDs for sale at CD BABY, I have moved into the world of digital distribustion and soon individual tracks will be downloadable from CD Baby. Other than that, I don't have much art news this month and I won't bore anyone with details about the station. I will catch you all again, soon.

Updated 7\25\2003

Exciting news in the Phil Hammon camp saw "yours truly" promoting art and whipping up an easy recipe for all to enjoy durinng a taped broadcast of "Cooking with Tonya" on AZTV Channel 7 (Prescott)/ Channel 27 (Phoenix). I have also been honored by having my visual art used as backdrops for "AM ARIZONA" on the same channel. Look for exciting new designs in the coming months. I have also been designing a lot of CD packages and duplicating music for some very impressive Prescott talent. As we smooth into the music news, I have put "Queen of the Flight Deck" into the "mix" file and it is now "officially" recorded. I have resigned from creating any more overdubs, new parts, etc. for that song. Hopefully the rest of the CD will start to progress at a much faster rate. Newt Lynn was one of the artists duplicating music and he and a few other artists will soon be included in a special section of my site dedicated to great talent both new and old. This will be a good way to catch some new music, know who the artists are, where to purchase CD's and any other memorabilia that they might have. Everyone's music will be available through both my site and each artist's own if they have one. "Steve Counter" the engineer behind the music of such acts as "Digital Underground" and the original funky divas "Envoque" will be showcasing his own music which is very, very cool and distinctive. A very talented band from Malta called "Corkskrew" has also consented to the new page along with local artists Newt Lynn and Scott Leavitt. Both Newt and Scott have that Dillion/Singer/Songwriter groove that is very refreshing today. Also Coyote Radio will be included and will round up the comedic side of the arts. I hope to have a few other artists linked up here soon and I will update the roster whenever someone new comes online. I am really excited about this new artist section because every artist/band will be there because I asked them to be there and I personally dig their gig. Boy, "Dig their Gig" didn't sound dated at all, did it? One last comment concerning my music is the news that CD BABY will be carrying both my CDs and those of you who would rather use credit cards in a secured environment to purchase music will now be able to do so. However, the option to purchase via money order or check is still open on my site and the CDs are offered at a significant discount if purchased directly through me. WELL,,, I believe that is all I have to say for now and I thank you for taking the time to catch up with me and what's happening. Enjoy life to it's fullest until we meet again in the virtual world.

Updated 6/7/2003

Well, as you can see, I have not been very good at updating my page. This is not from lack of effort but from lack of time. I have been spending much of my time going to school to learn electronics because I have stumbled into the TV business and I have been absorbing a whole new field of expertise. I am still working on a new CD but the project is going slow. I have moved into the world of "real drums" in my recordings and that has set me back a bit in the engineering dept. I have not been able to capture drum sounds as well as I would like and have been experimenting a lot. Most of the guitar riffs are set into stone for all the songs and it is just a matter of writing lyrics and coming up with some melodies for most of the songs. Four songs should go fairly quickly once I get this drum thing happening. Anyone who has worked with me knows that I have a knack for creative explosiveness once I get the guitar and drums lines down on tape. Actually, two songs, "The Queen of the Flight Deck" and "Alone in your song" are real close to being completed. Again, the drums are holding things back. Aaron, "Alone in your Song" has not been forgotten! I am just slow! Also, concerning the visual art, I have been slowly working on new designs. As soon as I have some new finished product I will add those to the site. I will also keep everyone posted on upcoming deals that will help my exposure. I won't be specific at the moment but I have some TV stuff in the works that should allow a bigger portion of the public to hear and see some of my work. This business is all about exposure and boy, do I need more of that! LOL. Other news on the front line was a collaborative effort with the "Coyote Radio Theatre". I have been doing live sound for this group of wackie but talented comedians. The shows were simulcasted on local radio and was a fun time for all. Plans for the next season of Coyote Radio include professionally recorded performances that will hopefully be syndicated across the country. You might even hear "yours truly" on one of the broadcasts. Local Prescott artist, Scott Leavitt, brought his CD in for duplication and it sounds really good. It is a personal retrospective reminiscent, in my opinion, of Dillion. Which reminds me.... I have to update my graphic art page. Please, not more web design. LOL. Thanks everyone for all of your support and please be safe while having fun. Life is too short to be bored but it is even shorter if you die young. Please think before you act.

Updated 3/21/2002

A lot has been happening since the last time I entered information. First, the "Frankenstein Baby" CD is now available for sale and if you purchase both the "Librarian's Nightmare" and "Frankenstein Baby" I have offered them at a substantial discount. I have been working on another CD but I won't even try to estimate when that one will be done. I was way off estimates on "FB" so there is no use trying to guess. I have also seperated from a long time involvement with an art publisher and have become an independent artist. I have been spending a lot of time getting that side of the webpage established. The Good news is that I have been re-designing the site and I think it is looking a little better. Live and learn.

"Skylark" from Frankenstein Baby was the brainchild of Steve Counter. Steve is a good friend who offered not only one of his instrumentals for me to hack up, but gave countless hours of his time re-teaching me the art of engineering since my courses at MTI back in the 80's. He also took the time to remix the song and wrap his arrangement around my vocals. Please check out Steve's credentials at http://www.all music.com You will find that he has a lot of great music associated with his name.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with songwriter Marianne Murdock and singers Angie and Gina LaMar. What a wonderful treat it was to work with such talented people. Unfortunately for me, they have all headed out to Nashville and have started playing with the big boys. I wish them the best of luck and pray they will all come and visit again, soon.

I have also realized a BIG MISTAKE in the cover design of the "Librarian's Nightmare". Somehow when proofing the design I missed some important information and I have to give my most sincere apology to Paula Wolak. Paula is an extremely gifted sound engineer who put up with all kinds of crazy/spooky situations during the recording of the "Nightmare". I can't believe I missed giving credit to a sound engineer since I have a few of them as friends. Paula, I am sorry and I will make sure any new CD's that head out the door will include your much deserved credits. For those of you who don't know about Paula, you can check out what she has been doing by viewing her credits at http://www.allmusic.com and search "Paula Wolak".

Also in the studio, however his presence as been rare, is local artist Sandy Stevens. He will be creating an acoustic batch of songs that I think will have a very nice sound. At the moment, he is still in the tracking phases and he might be in that stage for a long time. But artists create when they are ready to create and you can't change that.

Another artist that came to visit the studio was Joe Robertson. My involvement on this project was strictly for CD cover design and duplication, but I enjoyed working with him and his Christmas CD was a big hit around town. Joe has been picking around this town for ages and is one heck of a guitar player.

Well that is all for now. I will try to enter information on a more timely basis. I hope all is well with everyone and you continue to stay focused and positive in your lives.

Updated 11/30/2001

Well, here you have it. It is November and the CD is finally in the tweaking stages. The rough mixes were pretty solid but I wanted to make a few changes here and there. As you can see by some of the pictures on the site, the artwork is finished. My friend Marcos Galaviz galantly donated his time and artistic vision for the creation of the cover. I think the cover is wonderful and I find a lot of humor, and intelligence in the design. "Skylark" is going to be honored with a "track of the day" airing on Garageband.com DEC. 3rd, 2001. I am curious to see what kind of response it gets from the masses. Hopefully it will be a great turnout. I have already started writing a bunch of new songs and I have gotten permission to work on a song from one of my musical comrades in Canada. The song is called "Alone in your Song" and it is written by Aaron Saloman who is a very talented musician in his own right. I look forward to creating a new vibe to an already great song. Wish me luck! You can get Aaron's site address from the Links page. I hope all is well with everyone and I wish you all a great holiday season. Best of luck to all of you and be happy, safe, and live life to your fullest potential.

Updated 8/14/2001

It is now official. The new CD is going to be called "Frankenstein Baby". The art work is now being designed and soon the album design will be tackled. Eight songs are mixed with two more remaining as of today. Mixing should be complete by the end of August and then the tracks will go to the mastering facility to polish up the album's balance and continuity. The CD will be made available direct through Jammin' Hammon Productions as soon as the master CD is back in my hands. Mass duplication is scheduled for later in the year and this will allow the CD to enter into the retail market, ie. CDBABY, CDnow, Amazon, and Best Buy, etc.

I have expanded my internet presence and have created sites on Garageband.com , MP3.com and IUMA.com

I would like to take a moment to say hello to all the friends I have encountered on the net. The group has grown to over four hundred people and I have enjoyed talking to everyone of you. Time restrains me from contacting everyone on a regular basis but I want to tell you all, you are not forgotten by any means. I still honor your support as much today as I did when I first talked to you. I hope to catch up with everyone soon. Take care and have a great week. Sincerely, Phil Hammon

Updated 6/4/2001

Currently in the works is a full length CD being recorded and mixed in my own project studio.

The CD, as yet untitled, will be a compilation of ballad, rock and rock/funk styles of music. The album title is being narrowed down to "Down The Road", "Talkin' About America", "Frankenstein Baby", or "Systematically". Anyone who wants to give their opinion is encouraged to speak their mind by contacting me at phammon@philhammon.com

As of June 4th, 2001 the recorded material for the CD has hit nine songs ready to be mixed with three songs still waiting for vocal tracks. I hope to start mixing the CD by the beginning of July and have it ready to press by the end of July. A lot depends on how fast I can get the album cover art designed and formatted to the CD layout. I will be doing this myself and I will be learning as I go. So wish me luck.

For those of you who visit the site on a fairly regular basis, I am sure you have noticed the changes to the site. I am still working on some new ideas and will deliver them as I get a minute or two. I for one am happy to see the changes.

It is now just a matter of time before the release of the new music. I have thoroughly enjoyed the recording of this project and can't wait for you all to hear it.

Ciao for now..... Phil Hammon
